The Imitation of Christ and the Imitation of a Christian

It's time for me to go to bed. I thought I might grab something to read in bed for a bit, just to wind d0wn. I saw a familiar book. I picked it up. It was the book depicted above. I thought, "maybe." I opened it up, read the titles of the two sections, and put it down. This classic work, which I greatly admire, is what a friend referred to as "an ouch book". I wish I were in a place where this book was appropriate spiritual fare, but not tonight. The title isn't really fair. I am not an imitation Christian. By some standards I am, but my faith is real, if somewhat anemic these days.

I also recognize that God can use such books. But you don't ask a person with broken arms to do a bench press.
